One of the Best TV Shows of 2023

“My favorite new show of the year—and it’s not even close—is this British dramedy from author turned creator Cash Carraway that follows the misadventures of two broken people and the little girl they both love. […] the performances off-the-charts authentic. Grounded, human stories are in increasingly short supply on TV, but even if they weren’t, Rain Dogs would feel like something rare and special. HBO’s Magnificently Dark RAIN DOGS Is Like No Other Family Comedy on TV.”

– Judy Berman, Time Magazine

This Biting, Brilliant Show Will Be HBO’s Next Sleeper Hit

“[…] an undeniably brilliant central performance from Cooper, Rain Dogs is set to be the dark horse of the spring television season.”

– Coleman Spilde, The Daily Beast

‘Rain Dogs’ Is One of the Most Surprising New Shows of the Year

“Daisy May Cooper commands the screen from minute one, while Jack Farthing manages to find just enough of a reserve of charm that you will understand why Costello keeps allowing Selby back into her life. Fleur Tashjian, in her first screen role of any kind, feels utterly natural…”

– Alan Sepinwall, RollingStone

Rain Dogs ★★★★★

“‘This show floored me’: Here is the first must-see series of 2023. […] both Cooper (This Country) and Farthing (Poldark) give exceptional performances.”

– Craig Mathieson, Sydney Morning Herald

Synopses

From the bold new writer, Cash Carraway, Rain Dogs is an unconventional familial love story following a working-class single mum trying to raise her 10 year old daughter on the poverty line. The series follows their relationships with each other, as well as with a privileged gay man recently out of prison and a friend working at a funeral home. Starring Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing, Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo and Fleur Tashjian, Rain Dogs is about dysfunction, art, love, poverty and trying to go straight in a crooked world.

It was nominated at the 2023 Gotham Awards, RTS Awards, and won two RTS West of England Awards.

Time Magazine named it the 4th best show of the year.
